Winehouse tortures the world

with 6 comments

There really is no justice.

First you think things are going to get better when super slurring songstress (songstress, now there’s a laugh!) get locked up, and then they get better when the moaner appears to be barred from travel, even if she did get allowed to slip her chains and make an appeal.

Now we hear the drug-soaked slurrer will perform live via satellite at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony despite a late change of heart over her US visa application.

The awarding of her visa comes after her initial application was rejected by American officials. Her performance in a studio in the early hours of Monday in London will be beamed into the show in Los Angeles. Her agents said she would not travel to the Grammys “due to the logistics involved and timing complications”. Winehouse is leaving the rehab clinic where she has been treated for two weeks to prepare for the performance.

The sooner rubbish like Winehouse and her filthy pal Pete Docherty (said to have sat and watched her overdose) are turfed out on their ears by the fools that pay them millions to behave like cretins the better the rest of the world will be.

Instead of holding up as if they were gods, they should be stripped of all the riches they have conned everyone out of and thrown into the street to fend for themselves, and the Auld Git would be first in line to slam the door in their face and tell them to clear off and get a job!

  2. If the damage to your brain means you selected this post about the Winehouse whiner to make a reference to being moved by “the beauty of music, verse, art, or the creative and sometimes messed up souls that produce it” then there’s little point in responding.

However, I think you’re comment is an insult to people like Vincent van Gogh, to whom the phrase you used could apply.

I’m all for people who earn their crust, maybe even posthumously, but rubbish like the modern celebrity (spit) doesn’t earn it, but is simply a facade that is promoted by a backer, and if they hadn’t been selected and pushed down everyone’s throat as a “Good Thing”, wouldn’t have been give a second look on the basis of their own, non-existent, abilities. Their selected by the money-men only for their ability to attract publicity – the music is almost irrelevant and incidental.

    More than ’nuff said.

  3. I think Winehouse is a fantastic artist and has produced two great albums. Whatever she gets up to and whatever the Daily Mail wishes to say about her – well I couldn’t give a flying bollock. I mean seeing someone unwinding before our eyes is quite honestly very, very boring.

Van Gough? Well, I enjoy his work but he’s also part of the art establishment and so automatically becomes untouchable. If I am totally honest, and I can only be honest, if he were unknown and i saw, say, Sunflowers, I don’t know what my immediate feelings would be. But I don’t claim to know a lot about art.

Anyway, I don’t think Winehouse is comparable with the other celebs on your blog who see no artistic value in anything unless it’s splashed across TV Quick and have no discernable talent whatsoever apart from stupidity and greed.

  4. Oh crumbs, two comments – I don’t know what to do cos I didn’t really expect any.

The Blog really is just for me to blow off some steam in the same way the celebrity worshippers (and the media) can promote their view of the world in such a way that if I watch/listen to the news, or dare look at the magazine shelf, I get involuntarily washed over by their veritable flood of unwanted cack.

I don’t really want to start off dialogues either, BUT I’m loathe to turn comments off altogether, since that makes me a censor, unwilling to allow the views of others.

    I can’t win, can I?

  5. “I can’t win can i?”

You could stop writing uninsightful uninformed inarticulate bollocks on your blog. That would put you at least nose ahead of your current position.

  6. “uninsightful uninformed inarticulate bollocks”

    Thank goodness…

Confirmation that I’m hitting the spot I’m aiming for.

Oh, and as for the ‘inarticulate’ jibe…

Were you never taught to delimit lists with commas?

    Har, har, har.

There goes the the pot calling the kettle black.
